This design is the second to last design in the current limited series. This shirt reads develop ashar not happiness. That translated means that we need to be people who develop happiness not happiness. This is related to the other designs in this series because first released was the shirt that promoted shalom – peace; then released was the shirt ahava – love; now released is the shirt ashar – happiness. This creates what is often used in American culture the phrase, “Peace, Love, and Happiness”. This series purpose was to change the whole meaning to that phrase by looking at it from a biblical standpoint. This shirt concludes the statement but will be preceded by a future design that combines all the ideas into one. The final design of this series is still yet to come which will be, “develop shalom, ahava, and ashar.”
What exactly does “develop happiness not happiness” mean?
This truth was generated from Psalm 1:1-2 which reads: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. The secret of finding happiness is all right here in this verse. The Hebrew word used for the word blessed is the word ‘esher – in Hebrew this word literally means happiness. The root of this word is ashar – which literally means to go straight. This means that happiness is when we walk on a straight path. What path, one may ask. The path of Truth. You see in this Psalm David writes that the blessed man, the happy man, is only happy because his delight is in the law of the Lord. Someone who is searching for happiness in their lives from girls, guys, drugs, alcohol, porn, sex or any other perversion is looking in the wrong area. The Word of God states that happiness is found only when one loves the law of the Lord and when they meditate and chew on it day and night. Happiness is when you chew on the Word, when you not just skim over it for 3 minutes in the morning, but its when you gnaw on it and throw it around in your head all day long. The word used for meditate is to convey the idea of how a cow would chew or gnaw on something until all the nutrients were sucked out of what it was eating. Happiness for us is when we chew and gnaw on the Word of God until we absorb all the nutrients it has for us. Happiness is when those nutrients from the Word invade our body and soul. It’s frustrating to be in a world where people think you are happy by the circumstances in your life or by how much money you have. The bible is very clear when telling us where happiness is found. Happiness is delighting in the law of the Lord. Notice also that the word happiness, it’s root is to walk straight. Happiness is when we walk straight and obey the Word of God. It’s one thing to just read the Word and recite it, but are you walking in line with what the Word of God teaches. We are to walk straight to be happy, we aren’t to walk over there and back on the path again they go backwards to find happiness. Happiness is walking hand in hand straight with the Lord. What is your delight today? If it’s in anything else but the Word of God, then you will be forever searching for happiness. If you want happiness and you want to be someone who is happy, you need to actively read and study the Word of God.
Why did I receive a bandana with my shirt?
This kit contains an element that attributes to the stylistic form of the design on the garment. No other product has been released with such integration of art, design, and style as this develop product has. What this means is that the design of the shirt contains two main elements, spray paint and paisley. Every time a limited kit is released from this series you will receive something that attributed to how the shirt was made. This shirt looks like it was made with spray paint. The reason a bandana relates to that is because when develop started off and was too poor to buy a respirator, we had to use bandanas to cover our face for the fumes from the spray paint. Develop ink. started using bandanas over the face before it was a fad. We started doing it because it was the only way we could make sick designs and not get high. The reason there is paisley in the design is because it is the trademark for all bandanas. Paisleys have been coined for appearing on bandanas, so what a better way to convey that idea of spray paint than to put paisley in this shirt design. So go out and use your bandana to stay healthy and clean. Rock it over your face, out of the pocket, or on your wrist – just know develop did it first not as a fad but to protect from those pesky paint boogers that accumulate from no respiratory protection. All the develop ink. kits are limited and will never contain the same design again. Your limited product is 1 of 10 made on American Apparel – Aqua shirt.
